Castrol Classic Valvemaster is a lead replacement additive for engines built to run on leaded petrol. Valvemaster provides the best protection against valve seat recession after lead, while keeping your fuel system clean and providing excellent corrosion protection.
Why use a lead replacement additive?
Many classic engines were designed for leaded fuel. Lead helped protect the valve seats, so running these engines on unleaded petrol alone can lead to valve seat recession. Adding Valvemaster to unleaded petrol replaces that protection. It is particularly suited to older vehicles with compression ratios below 8:1.
