Castrol Power 1 4T 10W-40 is an advanced, premium quality engine oil developed for the latest generation 4-stroke motorcycle engines, built around Castrol’s Power Release Formula. Castrol Power 1 4T is engineered for performance.

Power Release Formula is designed specifically for bikers who love the exhilaration of riding. It’s engineered to enable the bike to deliver maximum and sustained power right up to very high operating rpm, offering a significant advantage over other motorcycle engine oils. The added Trizone Technology ensures uncompromised performance protection for engine, clutch and gears. Power Release Formula reduces internal losses in the engine, whilst retaining optimum wet clutch performance to ensure efficient transfer of power to the rear wheel. It’s tested and proven to deliver improved acceleration at the touch of the throttle, flows fast, and reduces internal engine losses to friction.

This oil is designed to optimise performance and protection for modern motorcycles where API SL (and below) and JASO MA are recommended.

Typical Characteristics

Kinematic viscosity at 40°C is 66 mm²/s, and at 100°C is 13.5 mm²/s, giving a viscosity index of 145. Cold-cranking simulator viscosity at -25°C (10W) is 5000 mPa.s, and the Total Base Number is 9.8 mg KOH/g. Visual appearance is clear and bright, and density at 15°C is reported per batch rather than fixed to one typical value.

The Product Performance Claims section of the data sheet lists API SL and JASO MA2.

Storage

Store under cover. Where outside storage can’t be avoided, drums should be laid horizontally to avoid water ingress and damage to drum markings. Do not store above 60°C or expose to hot sun or freezing conditions.
