Introduction
Walsh Lubricants is committed to conducting business ethically, responsibly, and with integrity. We recognise that modern slavery and human trafficking are grave violations of human rights, and we take seriously our responsibility to ensure that these practices have no place within our operations or supply chains.
This statement is made pursuant to our ongoing commitment to transparency and corporate responsibility, and sets out the steps we are taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains.
Our Business
Walsh Lubricants is the Authorised Authorised Distributor of Shell lubricants in Ireland. We supply premium lubricants and related services to a wide network of customers, including independent workshops, motor factors, and industrial partners. We operate primarily in Ireland and source our products from established global suppliers, including Shell.
Our Commitment
We do not tolerate any form of modern slavery, forced labour, or human trafficking.
We are committed to upholding the highest ethical standards in our dealings with employees, customers, suppliers, and the wider community.
We expect the same commitment from our suppliers and business partners.
Policies and Governance
Our approach to combating modern slavery and human trafficking is supported by existing policies, including:
Policy on Ethics and Compliance – ensuring responsible business conduct.
– Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy – protecting the rights and dignity of all employees.
– Sustainability Policy – supporting responsible environmental and social practices.
– Supplier Code of Conduct (where applicable) – requiring suppliers to comply with human rights, labour, and ethical standards.
Risk Assessment and Supply Chain
Given the nature of our operations, we believe the risk of modern slavery within Walsh Lubricants is low. Our supply chain is largely comprised of products sourced from Shell, a global company with strong compliance and governance systems in place. However, we recognise that risks may exist deeper within global supply chains, particularly where raw materials are concerned.
We are committed to:
– Identifying and assessing potential risk areas in our supply chains.
– Working only with suppliers who share our values and comply with ethical sourcing practices.
– Engaging with suppliers to address concerns and encourage continuous improvement.
Due Diligence and Training
– We will continue to strengthen due diligence processes with suppliers, incorporating modern slavery considerations.
– Employees with procurement and supplier management responsibilities will receive awareness training on identifying and addressing risks of modern slavery.
– We encourage employees and partners to report any concerns through established reporting channels, without fear of retaliation.
Monitoring and Continuous Improvement
Walsh Lubricants will review this statement annually and continue to enhance our practices to address modern slavery risks. We remain committed to transparency, accountability, and protecting the rights of all individuals connected to our business and supply chains.
Approval
This statement has been approved by the Directors of Walsh Lubricants and will be reviewed annually.
